Conditions of entry and residence regime

Romanian citizens do not need visa to travel in Greece. Entry in Greece is allowed with passport or identity card valid at least 6 months of their arrival in Greece.

Obtaining residence permits

In accordance with legal provisions, Romanian citizens who wish to stay in Greece more than three months should contact local authorities for obtaining a residence permit / residence.

Residence permits issued by the Greek authorities are:

Residence permit for studies;

Residence permit for employment;

Residence permit for independent economic activity;

Residence permit for family reunion;

Residence permit for athletes and coaches;

Residence permit for executives, managers and insurance companies;

Residence permit for cultural, artistic, etc..;

Residence permit for other reasons

Documents required for obtaining a residence permit are:

application filed with the municipal mayor or local, to be the reasons underlying the request;

copy of passport / identity card;

documents from the workplace;

account statements proving the possibility of maintenance;

existence of a living space;

birth certificates;

marriage certificates and other supporting documents.

Procedure

In Greece, Ministry of Interior, Public Administration and Decentralization is the authority that manages the migration problem.

Residence permits are granted, renewed or revoked by the Secretary General of the Region, the Local Commission proposal for Immigrants.

Municipal Commission examines the request and submit local services for foreigners who analyzes the request and sends, approved positive or negative, the Local Committee for Immigrants. Local Committee for Immigrants presents, finally, file the Secretary General of the Region, which shall decide whether or granting of rights of residence of foreign nationals.

Fees

Applications for residence permits submitted by citizens of the member EU are exempt from additional charges, paying only the fee for issuing the residence permit.

Terrorist threats

Terrorism is a global phenomenon, nonlocalized, or Greece can not therefore be excluded from these threats.

Safety and crime

Greece is a country with low crime levels.

Minor crimes such as theft of their pockets, swindling and theft of cars can occur in crowded areas (stations, stations, parking lots, shopping centers, gas stations and service areas on motorways).

General recommendations:

Documents stored in a secure and personal values, tickets for travel money, credit cards and do not display clearly on you or in your car.

Medical System

Health insurance is compulsory in Greece.

We strongly recommend to conclude a health or medical insurance to obtain a European Health Card before leaving on a trip.

If you fall ill or have an accident during a temporary stay in an EU Member State, E 112 and towards a social health insurance will give you access to necessary medical care.

This card will allow you to receive necessary medical care during your temporary stay in any EU country.

Be sure to have additional medical insurance to be valid in all countries. On the basis of such insurance, optional, you have access to emergency services both in public health, and private (depending on the type of the insurance policy). At the end of such insurance check coordinates partner insurance company in the country of destination and transit.

We recommend you to conclude, before departure, travel insurance. This is valid in all countries and can cover the basic risks (illness, accident, emergency dental care or repatriation in case of death) to all travel risks, including loss / theft / damage to baggage, cancellation departure abroad , airline bankruptcies, etc..

Life insurance has proved beneficial to the families of those dying from accidents or because of illness.

In the European Union do not need any special vaccinations.

Auto Traffic Conditions

Circulation car:
Circulation car is done on the right side of the road.

The roads:
General state of roads and infrastructure is good.

Using mobile phone while driving:
Is prohibited.

Appliances anti-radar and radar detection:

Excludes both the entrance and exits drugs of any kind and doping substances.

Antibiotics shall be issued only on prescription.

Pets regime for the EU, you need European pet passport. This document can be obtained from your veterinarian and must contain information on rabies vaccination.

The animal must be identified by an electronic microchip. By July 2011, is also acceptable, and a clearly readable tattoo.
